James Bond 007 – The world’s most lethal spy

James Bond 007 is the fictional character that has become immortal in world of literature as well as movies. Created by British Novelist Ian Fleming, James Bond is the smart, dashing and daredevil commander who is bent on eliminating terrorism from the world. James Bond debuted in the world of literature in 1953 with the fast-paced espionage novel – Casino Royale.

Within a short span of time, this ace, smart spy became an instant hit with several other espionage novels like “From Russia with love”, “Dr.No”, “Gold Finger”,” Thunderball”, “World is not enough” etc.

Movies on James Bond – James Bond debuted on silver screen with 1962 movie – “Dr.No” featuring Sean Connery as the spy who embarks on a mission to save the world from a deadly weapon made by the evil Dr.No.  This movie was not only a whopping success, but it also brought upcoming actor Sean Connery in limelight. Sean Connery later continued playing James Bond in several movies which comprised “Goldfinger”, “From Russia with love”, “Never Say Never again” and “Thunderball”.

When Sean Connery decided to step out of Bond movies, actor Roger Moore stepped in the shoes and went on to become the most loved Bond of all times. “The Spy who loved me”, “Moonraker”, “A view to a kill”, “The man with the golden gun” and “For your eyes only” are the successful bond movies which featured Roger Moore as the smart, romantic spy.

After the departure of Roger Moore from the Bond movie series, Timothy Dalton was casted as the new 007 agent in “Licence to kill” and “The living daylights” in 1987. But the performance of Timothy Dalton as 007 didn’t appeal to the audience as expected.

After a gap of 8 years, the filmmakers introduced a new actor to the audience in the action-packed bond movie – The Golden eye. This time, it was the dashing and charming Pierce Brosnan. Pierce Brosnan’s charming look and performance not only won the hearts of viewers, but also gave a new lease of life to the Bond movie series.

Speciality about the James Bond movies –  What I really like about Bond movies is its thrilling and action packed beginning full of advanced gadgets, thrilling chases, explosive action, dare devilry stunts, deadly terrorists and sexy bond girls. “Pierce Brosnan” has always been the best Bond of all times. He immortalized the spy with his mind-blowing performance in “World is not enough”, “Golden Eye”, “Tomorrow never dies” and “Die another day”.

Trivia: The role of James Bond has been portrayed by Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig.

Latest updates – Presently, actor Daniel Craig is continuing the Bond legacy with the upcoming 2012 movie – Skyfall.

Romeo and Juliet

Romeo and Juliet
Release Date – 1996
Cast: Leonardo dicaprio, Claire Danes
Director – Bazz Luhrmann

The classic story of “Romeo and Juliet” was presented in an urban style by Director Bazz Luhrmann in the 1996 movie adaptation.  Bazz Luhrhmann’s visionary direction made the sweeping story of tragic lovers appear more passionate, vivacious and dazzling.  Romeo and Juliet is a story by William Shakespeare that has been adapted countless times into plays, operas and motion pictures. Especially I was impressed with the prologue of this movie when a newsreader appears on the television and reads the current headlines about the death of two lovers in city of Verona. Once the prologue ends, we are introduced to the scene where the members of Montagues and Capulets clash. As the movie progresses, Romeo and Juliet meet each other only to realize that their love is going to get crushed under the ruthless feet of hate.

Leonardo Dicaprio played the role of the innocent Montague boy – “Romeo” while the role of charismatic Capulet girl- “Juliet” was played by Claire Danes. I was pretty impressed with performance of Claire Danes as Juliet who projected the dilemma, anguish, pain and love of Capulet girl with perfection. The career of Leonardo dicaprio and Claire Danes rose to great heights and made them popular in the world of Hollywood.

The romantic dialogue between Romeo and Juliet reflects ecstasy & affection and the balcony scene is been considered as the best meeting scene of lovers ever written in the history of literature. Especially, the climax of this movie is moving and brings tears to eyes when Romeo and Juliet take their lives. Undoubtedly, “Romeo and Juliet” is the best love saga of star crossed lovers written by the genius “William Shakespeare”.

Even the 1965 movie “Romeo and Juliet” was excellently shot by director Franco Zaffareli. But the 1996 movie adaptation of the play “Romeo and Juliet” is more sensuous, moving and musical. This modern adaptation on the classic play of Shakespeare won lot of accolades and appreciations and is remembered as the best movie in the genre of romance.

I have watched this movie several times and regard this movie as the best adaptation in the history of Hollywood movies. If you are keen to know more about Romeo and Juliet, then you should read the story and you will realize about the rich vocabulary, romantic dialogues and the ironic climax which made “Romeo and Juliet” as one the best tragic plays during the Elizabethan time.

Hailee steinfield and douglas booth as Romeo and Juliet in the 2013 movie adaptation

Recently this tragic play of love was made into motion picture in 2013 featuring hailee steinfield and douglas booth in the lead roles.

Love stories like Romeo and Juliet are written only once. Hats off to Shakespeare for writing such a incredible love story whose magnificence cannot be expressed in words.

Tips that will help you to become a happy and successful blogger

The moment you enter a keyword in the Google search engine for guidelines on blog writing, you will notice countless web pages on becoming a successful blogger. 99% of blog writers search for tips that would make their blog popular with tons of comments and views. But how many of the writers search guidelines to become a happiest blogger in the web world? Very few! Success is not just gaining popularity and earning dollars. It’s much more. The real success lies in doing what you really love. If you aren’t happy with your work, how you can expect to be successful?

This article demystifies the illusion of fancy popularities and gives the actual tips on becoming a happy and successful blogger in the cyber space. Let’s take a glimpse at some of the few guidelines

1) Be Different – Try to stand apart from the crowd. Write some articles which haven’t been told to the world. When majority of bloggers were sharing their ideas on Janlokpal bill, I preferred to write an article on the famous characters from literature. Even though, the article received less response, I was happy that I dared to write a different article with complete unique concept.

If you have written the content from your heart, it will definitely connect with the audience. So, write something different that pleases you and gives you a sense of accomplishment. If you are happy about your writing work, success and popularity will automatically follow you.

2) Write about positive side of life – Please don’t write articles on Petrol hike, recession, interest rates, political leaders, floods and Janlokpal bill  in your blog post.  The eyes of every individual in this world are tortured by such stuff in the newspaper. Let the finance writers and newspaper reporters handle that.  So write something that’s endearing, cheerful and thoughtful e.g. the first rain drop, favourite song, smile of a beautiful girl, the first date with your sweetheart or any good movie that you thoroughly enjoyed in a multiplex.

In a short, describe something that is filled with substance of love, humour, compassion and hope.

3) Write inspiring and motivational articles – If you have a motivational or inspiring story to tell, then do write on your blog and share it with your friends on Facebook, Twitter and Digg.

People always like to read motivational articles. Thus the motivational article acts as a platform to cheer up the spirits of tensed people. The formula of writing motivational articles gets 100% response and popularizes your work to a large group of audience.

4) Read a lot to write a lot – Nicholas Sparks, the famous author of the Novel “Notebook” has stated that every writer should read at least 100 books a year. Though it may sound a bit tough, but professional writers do read 60 to 70 books a year. Try to read at least 10 books a year.

“Every writer should read at least 100 books a year” – Nicholas Sparks

As you go on reading, it slowly helps you to get a gist on the literature from various countries and enables you to identify new words, phrases and writing styles. If you want recommendation on good books then I suggest reading “Word power made easy”, “How to stop worrying and start living”, “The count of Monte Cristo”, “Little Women”, “Adventures of Tom Sawyer” and “Anne Frank – The diary of a young girl”, Elements of Style by William Strunk and E.B.White and Chicken Soup for the teenage soul.

5) Write short articles – Web writing is different from book writing. It should be short, humorous and to the point. Online readers are always looking for information written in a detailed as well as short way.

Lengthy articles aren’t read by the online users with the same enthusiasm as they read short content.  If you are writing a long article, make sure that you break up the article in paragraphs and bulleted list. A blog article presented with images gets good response.

6) There’s a story behind every story – If you are planning to write a biography on President Abraham Lincoln, you will definitely research on his life, his struggle and the political scenario prevailing during that era. Below are some of the keywords that are closely related to Lincoln’s life.

E.g Gettysburg address, Civil war, John Wilkes Booth, slavery.

This idea struck me when I was reading a book on speech deliveries. Since “Gettysburg speech” is considered as one of the best speeches in the American history, it inspired me to search the speech in Google. As I read the Gettysburg speech, it also gave me idea about Lincoln’s oratory skills, leadership and his journey to become the 16th president of America. Since Google is itself a vast library, you won’t fall short of creativity and ideas.

7) Keep writing, writing and writing – The more, you write, the more you get expertise in the field of writing. Spend at least one hour everyday for writing what you feel and what you love the most in your life.

For now, these are some points I felt discussing in this article. Hope you will discover some new thoughts, ideas from this content. If you do have any idea to share, do comment. I would love to hear it from you. Till the moment, enjoy your writing.

Keep Smiling

The pages of my 2011 diary are on the verge of completion and one more eventful year in my life is getting closed. No matter how adverse, complex and rigorous this year was, it was really an eye opener for me. I not only got the opportunity to realize my flaws, but also got the privilege to discover the reservoir of my skills, efficiencies and imagination. Hope the coming year brings more challenges where I can utilize my skills and efficiency to the optimum best.
I wish everyone a dynamic and energetic new year. Let every moment be cheerful and prosperous.

Lee Falk’s Phantom

Phantom is perhaps one of the most popular comic character that is still ruling the comics world for past 75 years. He is immortal, really immortal. Phantom also called the “Ghost who walks” was born from the imagination of Lee Falk, the great visionary writer.

Phantom is a sophisticated avatar of “Tarzan” who lives in dense jungle of Africa, fighting the criminals, pirates and smugglers prevailing in the society. Phantom debuted in the world of comics on February 17th 1936 and became an instant hit in just one go. Even though Phantom was inspired by Edgar Rice Burroughs fictional character “Tarzan”, Lee Falk’s Phantom was completely different from Tarzan. When gaming consoles were nowhere in picture, comics were the hottest entertaining medium for kids.

The Phantom comics released by Kings Feature Syndicate were immediately sold in bookstores and the demand for Phantom comics was very huge as similar to the new released book of Harry Potter Series. Times of India Publication released the stories of Phantom in form of Indrajal comics in early 80’s and thus Phantom became a popular comic hero even in India.

Introduction and Origin of Phantom – The origin of Phantom dates back to 1525 where a sailor named Christopher Walker is found fatally wounded on the beach of bengala. When the sailor regains his consciousness, he realizes that his ship was attacked by Singh pirates and his father was brutally murdered in the pirate attack. He also recollects the incident where a severe tornado has also perished the ship of pirates. Seeing the bloody destruction inflicted by the pirates, Christopher Walker pledges to become a masked crusader and protect the human race from the pirates and his coming generation will also follow the oath.

Thus Christopher Walker becomes the 1st phantom and becomes a threat to pirates, smugglers and international terrorists operating in various nations. After the death of 1st Phantom, his next generation continue the legacy of becoming Phantom and vanquish the crime from the world.

Every Phantom story written by Lee Falk was unique in its own. Lee Falk even included prominent personalities such as William Shakespeare and Abraham Lincoln in his stories to make the Phantom stories more realistic and entertaining. All the Phantom stories written by Lee Falk were fully packed with thrilling action, suspense, romance, emotion, conspiracy and adventure. Moreover, reading Phantom comics was like seeing a Hollywood blockbuster movie. Presently Kit Walker is the 21st Phantom who lives with fiancée Diana Palmer in the skull cave and is continuing the legacy to fight against crime and piracy.

Movie Adaptation – A 1997 Hollywood motion picture featured actor Billy Zane as Phantom, who has to stop deadly criminals from finding a mysterious skull. Even the motion picture was equally entertaining. I hope someday a new motion picture comes up on Lee’s Falk Phantom with Mel Gibson as Phantom as Catherine Zeta-Jones as Diana Palmer.

I am really a die-hard fan of Phantom and I still take a timeout to read the graphic novels of Phantom during my free time. Hope you love this post.
