A motivational letter of Bruce Lee

“Empty your mind, be formless, Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water my friend” – Bruce Lee

In everyday life, each single person mails, tweets and updates about his activities to his friends on the cyberspace. But have you ever heard about a person writing a letter to himself? You surely didn’t! Please carefully read the excerpt from the letter of a famous personality who redefined Hollywood ‘action’ with his dedication, mastery and skills.

My Definite Chief Aim

I, Bruce Lee, will be the first highest paid Oriental super star in the United States. In return I will give the most exciting performances and give the best of quality in the capacity of an actor. Starting 1970 I will achieve world fame and from then onward till the end of 1980 I will have in my possession $10,000,000. I will live the way I please and achieve inner harmony and happiness.

Bruce Lee

This letter was written by none other than Bruce Lee, the popular martial arts expert and Hollywood star during his struggle days. Bruce Lee wrote this letter on 9th January 1970 to himself with a promise to meet the goals he had set for his life. But sadly, Bruce Lee died in 1973 while dubbing for the Hollywood movie “Enter the Dragon”. As the letter indicates that he wanted to fulfil all his dreams within 10 years, Bruce Lee had met all his promises and goals prior to the committed time. When Bruce Lee didn’t had any guiding force or mentor to motivate him, Bruce Lee internally motivated himself by writing this letter. This letter written by Bruce Lee is a standing example of internal motivation for people who don’t have anyone to guide them. I had read this short story in Arindam Chaudhary’s motivational book – “Discover the diamond in you” and was keen to re-tell this story in my blog. What a great personality Bruce Lee was! So, take a time out for yourself and write a letter to yourself, mentioning all the dreams that you have set for your life. Once you march on the struggle path, there will be no one to block your path of success. I hope you will find this article useful, constructive and motivational. Please do let me know your views.
Thanks

The Call of the Wild – A brilliant story of wildlife by Jack London

Novel Title : The Call of the Wild
Author : Jack London
Publication Date : 1903

Review – No one has succeeded in capturing the brutal side of wildlife so accurately as Jack London did. This novel is truly fabulous and highly recommended to the readers who love reading wildlife stories. Though I am not so interested in reading wildlife stories, but “Call of the Wild” was so engrossing from start to finish that I couldn’t set my eyes off from the book.

This novel revolves around a sheepdog named Buck who suffers the inhuman pain inflicted by the human race during the Klondike gold rush. Buck’s smooth and happy life is disrupted by Manuel, a greedy gardener who kidnaps Buck and sells him off to sled dog drivers and thus begins the life of hardship and pain for this sheepdog. Buck has to undergo countless cruel tortures inflicted by the human race and how he succeeds to adapt himself to the inhuman world is well described in the 1903 novel “Call of the Wild”.

                                                                Jack London

Right from the first chapter where Buck is lovingly brought up by Judge Miller, his first owner to the fast paced climax where John Thornton, his other master who is brutally murdered by the Indian tribes, every instance in this novel is fast-paced and seen through eyes of Buck, the sheep dog. Though this novel is bit lengthy, but the story telling of Jack London is so absorbing that you stay glued to the book.

“The Call of the wild” is considered as one of the most literary gem in the world of literature which narrated the bonding between a wild life creäture and human beings. If you are searching for a novel focusing on wildlife, then Jack London’s novel – The Call of the wild lives up to your expectations. Hollywood movie “Eight below” was inspired by Jack London’s several novels such as “White Fang”, “Sea Wolf” and “Call of the wild”. Call of the wild has adapted into motion picture several times in 1923, 1935, 1972 and 2009.

Once you complete reading this novel, you should also check out “Black Beauty”, “White Fang”, and “Sea Wolf”. Come, respond to the call of the wild!!!!
