Is Holi really losing its colour?

There is color in every element of life. Whether it is the vibrant rainbow, green leaf, blue sky or the life giving blood, the world is incomplete without color. “Holi” is one such festival in India which is symbol of unity, togetherness and happiness. The origin of “Holi” dates back to mythological times when lord krishna used to smear colors on his friends, gopis and enjoyed it to the content of his heart. But now with the coming times, the spirit of “Holi” is losing its charm day by day. Nowadays, it is getting more commercialized with bhangs, noise pollution, implementation of toxic chemicals in gulal and water balloons. Usage of such toxic substances give rise to various health problems like renal failure, temporary blindess, dermatitis. It is also been seen that lot of hooligans forceably throw water balloons on people during this eve. Due to such instances, the spirit and joy of “Holi” is slowly diminishing day by day.

Hectic lifestyle and work pressure is one more factor which is disconnecting people from this festival. With hardly any time left for such occasion, people are prefering social networks to send messages and wishes to their family and friends.

So this time, let’s take a initiative to sustain the spirit of Holi by using environment friendly colors and come together to celebrate this festival of color in a real sense.

Wishing everyone a happy and prosperous holi !!
